Hard of hearing or working in noisy environments should not be a reason to lose confidence in using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). This is a reason to ensure you have the right one… Recently Clear Aid visited a client and demonstrated their AED to the group. This was the Cardiac Science NHS model, a fantastic choice. On that First Aid course we had a candidate wearing hearing aids in each ear and they asked us the question “Does this model have a screen telling me what to do, as I wouldn’t be able to hear it otherwise?” So, on turning it on we showed this candidate the screen and how it clearly shows exactly what instructions are required to use it correctly.
When selecting the correct AED these are some of the things to take into account.
